Young leaders will hear from the best leaders in our area as they gain necessary skills that are recognized by institutions all across America. All leaders who attend will be eligible to compete for the Leaders of Excellence Scholarship Award(s), as well as compete for a paid Fellowship to attend Student Leadership University in Washington, D.C. Weekly seminars by Metro Louisville's Top Leaders from these important sectors of business, public service, and non-profit organizations: Big Business, Education, Religion, Politics, Small Business, Arts, Medical Profession, and Legal Profession. Scholarship awards up to $4,000. Winners will be selected based on their performance on individual leadership projects and their displayed abilities in the Institute Leadership Seminars. Paid fellowship to attend Student Leadership University, a one-week intensive "behind the scenes" look at Washington, D.C. Attend a White House briefing, benefit from National Speakers who lecture on contemporary issues that affect leadership, and attend a special Congressional reception in your honor. Three classes will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM. Students accepted into the program will be notified by letter regarding the location of the class in your region and what required material will be needed. This session of ISL will meet on Tuesday evening April 19, April 26 and May 3. The Institute for Student Leadership is open to all students from rising eighth-graders through fourth-year college or post-secondary education. Admission is based upon qualifications, recommendations, and first come-first served. Students who have attended ISL in the past are eligible for re-admission, and are equally considered for all awards and fellowships, regardless of previous award history with ISL. Our goal is to recognize excellence and award it accordingly.
